History
A founding partner of PD Group Interior Design Ltd., Anna graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1988 receiving her degree of Bachelor of Interior Design. Her early work in Toronto included a position as Senior Designer with Triplan Inc. Her main focus of work was for the Ontario Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Agriculture and Food, where she was responsible for internal reorganizations and relocations.
Anna joined Pavelek & Associates, our founding company, in 1992. She completed her NCIDQ certification in 1993 and received her status as a Registered Interior Designer – a qualification recognised throughout North America. In 1996, she became principal of PD Group Interior Design Ltd., and has since led the design team to develop expertise in the fields of innovative office strategies, health care, programming and move coordination.
Areas of Specialization
Anna’s business philosophy, while based on tried and true design principles, is also committed to ongoing learning and leading edge solutions.
High Performance Work Spaces | Recognizing that major corporations and government agencies now realize the strategic value of their office space as a tool for maintaining a competitive edge, Anna has developed a design approach that results in high quality, high performance workspaces: it integrates business strategies, user needs and space planning into one effective strategy that can play an important role in attracting and retaining quality people. |
Healthcare | In March of 2002, after months of researching and following the evolution of Eden Philosophies in the BC Health Care Facilities, Anna completed the Eden Alternative training program and received her Certificate of Achievement. The Eden Alternative™ is a powerful tool aimed at remaking the experience of aging and disability. Her in depth knowledge of the teachings and understanding of the journey to creating an Eden environment is an invaluable asset to the project team and in the long run, most importantly, the residents of the new or renovated facility. |
Sustainable Design |
Green/sustainable design solutions are environmentally friendly, economically profitable and socially responsible. As an advocate with a vision of a sustainable future, Anna has studied the LEED model of sustainable development, and achieved her LEED Accredited Professional status in 2003. This accreditation complements Anna’s extensive commercial design experience by allowing her to apply the design expertise into the area of Green and Sustainable Construction Design. In 2018, Anna earned her WELL AP credential. The WELL Building Standard is the first building standard to focus exclusively on the health and wellness of the people in buildings. WELL is an evidence and performance-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring features that impact human health and well-being in the built environment, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind. The WELL Building Standard and more information on the WELL AP is available at www.wellcertified.com. |
